About Dr. Makam Ramesh

Dr. Makam Ramesh, best known for his surgical skills, teaching experience, innovations and research, is a pioneer in Minimal Invasive Surgery in the state of Karnataka, in India. He was the first surgeon to perform almost every type of advanced laparoscopic surgery in the State. He has also pioneered hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery in the country. He was also a part of the pioneering team in India in Bariatric Surgery, headed by Dr. Sunil Sharma, which performed the first Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass surgery in India.


He established the world renowned Bangalore Endoscopic Surgery Training Institute & Research Centre, through which he has trained over 600 practising surgeons from 5 continents and has been involved in several innovations including BEST endotrainer, Virtual Reality Laparoscopic Surgery Simulator, and Circulation pump, used for training in Minimal Invasive Surgery. He also started the first Fellowship Course in Minimal Invasive Surgery affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

Dr Saraswathi Ramesh

Dr. Saraswathi Ramesh is a well known Obstetrician & Gynaecologist & Laparoscopic Surgeon, consulting at A.V Hospital , Sagar hospital & Cloud nine hospital .She passed her M.B.B.S in 1986 from Bellary Medical College, Gulbarga University ,M.D. (OBG) in 1993 from Command Hospital Airforce, Bangalore University. Have been performing laparoscopic susrgery since 1993 and has either assisted or performed more than 10,000 basic and advanced laparoscopic surgeries.
Have been involved in training several gynaecologists in laparoscopic surgery at Bangalore Endoscopic Surgery Training Institute & Research Center.
Her other interests are Yoga therapy ,Naturopathy, Reiki, Pranic Healing & Crystal Healing. She has done her diploma in Naturopathy, Master’s Degree in Yoga , Master´s Degree in Reiki & Advanced Pranic Healing & Psychotherapy Course.

Dr Tulip

Dr. Tulip is a well known dynamic laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon who has completed her Master’s in general surgery in the year 1996. In her pursuit of laparoscopy she completed her fellowship in Minimally invasive surgery in the year 2005. Quest for knowledge goes on , so Dr. Tulip started Bariatric surgery in early 2006 under the able guidance of the renowned laparoscopic surgeon of international fame Dr. M. Ramesh and further went to the United States to replenish her skills in Bariatric surgery under the able guidance of Dr. Sayeed Ikramuddin who heads a Centre for excellence in Bariatric surgery in the University of Minnesotta. She has joined the Vikram Hospital, Sagar Hospital, and A.V. Hospital in Bangalore and is associated with Dr M. Ramesh in the Department of Minimally Invasive surgery and Bariatric Surgery. She also consults at Bojju Speciality Obesity & Cosmetic Center. Her major endeavour is to reach out to the society and to inculcate the thought that “Prevention of Obesity is better than Cure”.
